Mary Reedy is Honored with Volunteer Recognition Award

St. Louis County Recognizes Longtime Chris Jensen Volunteer
As part of St. Louis County’s Sesquicentennial year, the County is presenting a Volunteer Recognition Award to Mary Reedy tomorrow, Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 at 9:30 AM at the Duluth Courthouse as part of its regular St. Louis County Board meeting.
Mary worked for Arrowhead Regional Corrections as an Administrative Assistant in Court and Field Services for 26 years, from 1957 to 1983.
In her volunteer life, Mary has directly benefited St. Louis County and its residents. She has volunteered on the St. Louis County Labor/Management Insurance Committee since February 2000, representing retiree members. She is also past president of the Chris Jensen Auxiliary, and continues to volunteer in the store.
Mary’s life of volunteering started early, when she began volunteering in 1936 at St. James School, and helped start the school library.
Since retiring, Mary has also volunteered at St. Scholastica Monastery (12 years),
SMDC (5 years), the Depot, and Glensheen.
Mary Reedy was recognized as the City of Duluth’s Woman of the Year in 1995. She is active in many organizations involving retirees, including the former secretary of PEPSA, former President of the Lester River AARP, member of the Lakeside/Lester Park Gold Age Club, University View AARP, and Union Retirees.
