St. Louis County is pleased to announce the County Highway No. 7 bridge is reopening today, May 13, 2010, three (3) weeks earlier than planned. With the help of our partners, LHB Engineering and Northland Constructors, the county was able to repair and reopen the bridge ahead of schedule.  Residents and travelers will no longer have to follow a detour established while repairs to the structure were proceeding.

St. Louis County hired Northland Constructors to complete the necessary repairs to the bridge spanning the Cloquet River on County Highway 7 located in Industrial Township, approximately two (2) miles west of Minnesota Trunk Highway 33, after it was closed on January 15th due to structural damage.  All repair work has been completed, and LHB Engineering has completed its condition inspection and a new load rating analysis of the repaired structure.  New signs for safe load posting, advance warning, and a truck speed advisory will be installed by St. Louis County employees.

St. Louis County would like to thank everyone involved in the project for their hard work, and would also like to offer a special thank you to the inconvenienced local residents for their patience during the reconstruction.
