Youth Make A Difference By Volunteering!

Applications for The Incredible Exchange Program will be accepted now through April 15 for Summer 2010 participation.  The Incredible Exchange is designed for youth ages 12-15 to volunteer in their communities in exchange for activities of their choice, like ski or golf passes, dance, music, or horseback riding lessons. Participants volunteer at “exchange sites” such as community centers, nursing homes, and hospitals. Upon completion of the program, which may comprise 25-50 volunteer hours, participants receive Exchange Credit Certificates, redeemable for their chosen activities, as well as the skills and life lessons learned through their volunteer experiences.

The program is designed to instill a life-long commitment to volunteerism in area youth and to provide a meaningful community learning opportunity. Applications have been mailed to all area schools, but, youth can also obtain an application by calling the St. Louis County Extension Office at 733-2876, or print an application from the web site.
