St. Louis County Recognized with Achievement Award from
Wisconsin Land Information Association
The City of Superior, Douglas County, and St. Louis County were all recipients of achievement awards presented by the Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA) at its annual awards luncheon on February 26th in Appleton, Wisconsin.
St. Louis County was awarded the “Friend of Land Records” award. This award is given to an individual or organization that is not a WLIA member, but has contributed to the success or advancement of land records modernization in the state of Wisconsin. St. Louis County was recognized for cooperative efforts with the City of Superior and Douglas County.
Commissioner Steve Raukar, Chair St. Louis County Board of Commissioners, stated,
“These awards demonstrate the importance of the strong partnerships in our region to expand public infrastructure, promote economic development and improve services for our citizens.”
St. Louis County, the City of Superior, and Douglas County have been working together closely to develop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) infrastructure, data, and processes to better serve their constituents through efficiencies achieved through regional collaboration efforts.
The City of Superior and Douglas County each received the “Local Government Achievement” award. This award is given to local, municipal, tribal, and county governments or consortium that have implemented modernization using Wisconsin Land Information Program funds to exemplify the goals of the program through innovative applications, local data sharing with statewide accessibility, and cooperative agreements.
