St. Louis County will Lease Chris Jensen to Private Company
At its meeting today, the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners voted to move forward with the lease of Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center to the Health Dimensions Group (HDG), a senior living and consulting company from Minneapolis, MN, effective November 1, 2009. Chris Jensen will not be closing and will remain a viable place in the community to both live and work. With this action, the County Board wishes to assure residents and family members that St. Louis County remains committed to the continuation of the highest level of care, programs, and services available at the facility to best serve its residents.

County Board Chair Dennis Fink said, “The proposal from HDG is an excellent alternative to continued county management of the facility, which has required a considerable financial subsidy for the last several years from property tax payers throughout the county. In pursuing this lease and management arrangement, it is the position of St. Louis County that Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center will remain a strong and vibrant program for skilled nursing services in our community for many years to come.”

Health Dimensions Group is a values-based health care organization, committed to the core values of hospitality, stewardship, respect, integrity, and humor. The company has a nearly 30-year tradition of operating and managing nursing homes and senior living communities. HDG currently manages and operates 25 senior living communities in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, and New Jersey.
