YOUTH MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY VOLUNTEERING

 

Applications for The Incredible Exchange will be accepted now through October 31 for winter 2008-2009 participation. The Incredible Exchange is a program of St. Louis County Extension and Universtiy of Minnesota 4-H designed to encourage young people ages 12-15 to volunteer in their communities in “exchange” for free opportunities to pursue an activity of their choice, such as ski or golf passes, dance, music, or horseback riding lessons. Participants volunteer at “exchange sites” such as community centers, nursing homes, and hospitals. Upon completion of the program (25-50 volunteer hours), the participant receives an Exchange Credit Certificate, redeemable for their chosen activity, and the benefit of the life skills learned during their community volunteer experience.

 

YOUTH REQUIREMENTS: AGES 12 to 15 (by October 31 deadline date).

Youth must apply for the program and live in South St. Louis County, MN.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 31, 2008.  

Session runs from December, 2008 through April, 2009.
