For Immediate Release:

St. Louis County’s Duluth Veterans Service Office Relocates with

The Vet Center on August 18, 2008

The Duluth location of the County Veterans Service Office is moving from the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center, also known as the Depot, to the Amendola Building, Suite 130, 405 East Superior Street, which is across the street from the Pickwick restaurant in downtown Duluth. The Vet Center, a federal counseling center for returning combat veterans from all United States military conflicts, is currently located in the same building.  First District Commissioner Dennis Fink, whose district encompasses the downtown Duluth area, said, “With this co-location, the Duluth Veterans Service Office and the Vet Center can provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for area veterans and their families, who are served by both of these vital veterans support organizations.”

The move will take place on Friday, August 15, 2008, but the telephone number, (218) 725-5285, will remain the same. Veterans are encouraged to contact this number if they have any questions about their veterans benefits or eligibility for services. The new 1,250 square foot office space will allow the three (3) Duluth Veterans Service Officers and support staff to serve our veterans from a much more convenient and accessible location.  On Monday, August 18, 2008 the Office will be open with limited services because of the need to make necessary technological connections with other agencies serving veterans. With the relocation, we anticipate a much greater veterans support presence in the Duluth area.  We thank you for your patience during the move.
