St. Louis County to Solicit Public Input on the
Lake Vermilion Management Plan and Proposed Zoning
St. Louis County is nearing completion of the Lake Vermilion Management Plan by finishing the Geographic Information System (GIS) Parcel Layer for Lake Vermilion and preparing the proposed zoning maps for public review and comment. These maps can be viewed on the County website at www.co.st-louis.mn.us. Property owners on Lake Vermilion who would like to know how their properties will be affected, and other concerned citizens, are encouraged to contact the St. Louis County Planning and Development Department for information at 1-800-450-9777, and ask for Roanne Axdahl at extension 5006; Mary Anderson at extension 7626; or Jenny Bourbonais at extension 7629.
“Open House” informational meetings will be held during the month of July to assist the public in understanding all aspects of the proposed plan. A St. Louis County Planning Commission public hearing will be held in August to receive public comments on the proposed zoning. Interested parties can submit written comments or questions by email to: planninginfo@co.st-louis.mn.us or by regular mail to: St. Louis County Planning and Development, 307 First Street South, Northland Office Building, Virginia, MN 55792.
