EARTH DAY AND SAINT LOUIS COUNTY
St. Louis County, Minnesota is making great strides in lowering energy use and greenhouse gas emission through conservation and the use of renewable resources. These changes in county government’s energy use saves residents’ tax dollars while making the area a healthier place to live, work, and raise families. The changes the County has made also reduce maintenance costs.
A press conference highlighting some of these accomplishments will be held on April 19th, 2006 at 1:00 PM on the roof of the County’s Motor Pool Building, with entrance at the corner of 4th Avenue West and 2nd Street in downtown Duluth. The roof supports the first major photo voltaic solar panels in downtown Duluth. Also featured will be two of the County’s new Hybrid vehicles and other examples of ‘green’ initiatives brought forth by the Property Management Department.
