Sheriffs' Association offers scholarships for law enforcement students

Sheriff Ross Litman is encouraging area law enforcement students to apply for one of 15 scholarships worth $600, offered by the MN Sheriffs' Association. In the last four years, five area students have won these scholarships.

Human remains found, believed to be of missing Duluth man

A search party discovered human remains in the area where Ed LePage's vehicle was found earlier this month. LePage, of Duluth, has been missing for several weeks. The remains have been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office to confirm the identification.

Man rescues suicidal woman from St. Louis River

Sheriff's deputies and other emergency responders were called to the St. Louis River to rescue a person from drowning. A citizen who'd heard the call on his scanner was able to get to the woman and safely bring her to shore.
