The St. Louis County Auditor's Accounting and Finance Division is responsible for preparing the county's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), which is a set of financial statements that complies with the requirements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is a simplified, condensed version of the CAFR. It is designed to provide an overview of the financial strengths and challenges of St. Louis County. The 2016 PAFR should enable readers to gain a deeper understanding of the organizational structure of St. Louis County, the county's revenues and expenses, how taxpayer dollars are used, and what the county accomplished in 2016. This is the first year St. Louis County has prepared a PAFR, demonstrating its commitment to transparency and openness.
